Our story

Three fathers. Ten children. One promise: only what we would choose for our own.

Claudius, Jonathan and Peter have been friends since their teens. When their first children arrived, suddenly everything mattered: the fabric, the quality, the label in the neck. In 2018 they founded Ehrenkind to make the things they could not find. Today, a team of 60 designs every product in Germany with the same care.

To honor every child.

In German, Ehre means honor and Kind means child. Our name is our promise: to bring joy and appreciation into every child's room.

Inspired by Montessori.

Where can I buy Ehrenkind in the U.S.?

How do European sizes work?

Our clothing uses European sizes based on height in centimeters, for example 74/80. Size 74/80 fits most babies from about 6 to 12 months. Each Amazon listing includes a size chart.

Is boiled wool itchy?

Our boiled wool is densely felted, which makes it smooth and soft. Most children wear it comfortably over a cotton or merino layer.

How do I care for wool clothing?

Wool cleans itself remarkably well. Usually airing it out is enough. When needed, hand wash cold with a wool detergent and lay flat to dry.

Where are your products made?

Every product is designed by our team in Germany. Our wool clothing, beeswax crayons and bath ponchos are made in Europe.
